Chapter 5

Summary:
For the first time, our character Jin, gets the first shot of love. While in class, he notices Amelia Harris. He starts to act weird and Wei-Chen starts to date Suzy. Later on in the chapter, Amelia volunteers to stay after school, and take care of pets. This was Jin's opportunity to tell her how he feels. While trying to get Jin to volunteer, the teacher thinks that Wei-Chen want to volunteer. That afternoon, Wei-Chen was working with Amelia and accidentally get lock in a closet. Later, Jin comes looking for them and finds them. He gets enough courage to ask Amelia if she wants to hang out with him, she says YES!

Chapter 4

Summary:
This is a quite a long chapter. The first thing that happens is that the monkey king passes new laws. First, All monkeys must wear shoes. Second, the monkey king is not to be disturbed. The king then meditates for more than a month mastering the 12 major disciplines of Kung Fu. For he wants to achieve to be "The Great Sage-Equal of Heaven". He then goes out to prove himself. He faces many Gods and proves that he is the great sage. Finally, he meets the god of all gods. The monkey king does not believe and decides to challenge him. The god does nothing and wins. The monkey is then stuck under rock for 500 years.

Chapter 3

Summary:
The chapter is about another main character "Chin-Kee". This character portrays the typical Chinese character. While Danny, an American teenage male, is sitting with his companion at the dinner table, Chin-Kee arrives from the airport. Danny is frightened and ashamed of having his cousin Chin-Kee back to visit. 

Interesting Fact:
The author puts the same image at the beginning of the chapter, and the end. why?

Why do you think Danny feels the way he does? Why do you suppose the author puts the same image of the house at the beginning and end of the chapter?

Chapter 2

Summary:
This chapter introduces our next character, Jin Wang. It starts by introducing the setting. Jin Wang has a toy robot that he calls a transformer. When he speaks to the herbalist she says the he could grow up to be a "trans-fo-ma" if he wanted to but he would have to give in his soul. Jin is introduced to his class and at first, doesn't have many friends. Then one day Wei-Chen, out next character, comes along. He is from Tai Wan and over time becomes Jin's best friend.

Interesting Fact:
What I find interesting is the short fable at the beginning of chapter 2. It somehow ties into the story. It was about a bot who changed according to his surroundings! When he was around fire, he played with fire. When he was around books he studied books. So the family stayed around there long.

Have you ever felt separated, apart from the group? You never had many friends, and felt like and outcast?

Chapter 1

Summary:
It all begins with a nice party. A party was being held in the heavens. Our first character the monkey king, over smell this party and decides to attend. After he waits in a long line, he find out he is not allowed into the party. He calms he is Deity, but they still don't let him in. He is laughed at and joked about for his being a monkey. In all, he ends up destroying the party and going back to his island.
